We program this QSFP-100G-DR1 with Cisco coding before shipping, at no extra cost. Your Cisco equipment (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR) then sees it as its own optic, just like a QSFP-100G-DR-S. Optically it's the same QSFP28 transceiver: 100GBASE-DR, up to 500 m over OS2.
Cisco IOS, IOS-XE and NX-OS read the module's vendor ID and checksum on insertion. Without Cisco coding you usually get an 'unsupported transceiver' message and the port goes err-disabled; 'service unsupported-transceiver' is a hidden, unsupported command. With Cisco coding the switch recognises the module as a Cisco optic and that command isn't needed.

Compatible means: the same optical specs and Cisco coding, not an original Cisco product. Brand and part names belong to their owners and are shown for comparison.
The QSFP-100G-DR1 is a QSFP28 transceiver for 100GBASE-DR: 100 Gb/s over single-mode fiber (OS2) up to 500 m, at 1310 nm, with LC duplex connector and DOM/DDM monitoring. Available generic (MSA) or pre-coded for 21 vendors, including Cisco, Juniper and Brocade: pick your equipment's vendor under Coding and we code it before shipping, at no extra cost. Tested, with test report and lifetime warranty.
