Optically it's the same SFP+ transceiver: 10GBASE-SR, up to 300 m over OM3.
NVIDIA Onyx/Cumulus and ConnectX cards work with many MSA modules, but not with every combination of firmware and module. With Mellanox/NVIDIA coding the switch or card recognises the module as an NVIDIA optic.
